Ariel Gail

Prof. Gail S. Goodman holds the title of distinguished chair in psychology within the University of California Davis and is Director of the Center for Public Policy Research. She is credited for starting research in modern science on the memory of children's eyewitnesses as well as the role of children as victims in the court system. Professor Goodman has published numerous papers as well as received numerous grants. She has also was awarded numerous national and international prizes. Her work has been with numerous authorities and organisations throughout the world in research and guidelines pertaining to children who have been victims of the legal system. She has been a consultant with the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center which was previously known as the Multidisciplinary Interview Center of Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She is a member of many professional organizations including the Association for Psychological Science and the American Psychological Association (Divisions Experimental Psychology Developmental Psychology Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues Society for Child and Family Policy and Practice American Psychology-Law Society Psychological Psychology for Women and Traumatic Stress). Professor Goodman belongs to the Psychonomics Society and the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children and International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She served as president of the American Psychological Association's Developmental Psychology Division division, Division American Psychology Law Society and Division Society for Child and Family the Practice and Policy.
